Preheat oven to 375. Rinse brussels sprouts and pat dry. If there are any that are significantly larger than the rest, cut them in half. Also remove any woody stems. Put them in a bowl, and coat them with oil, salt and pepper, stirring to get all sides. Spread in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Roast for about 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.
I also sometimes season these with lemon pepper before cooking, instead of the black pepper.
I reverently believe that the maker who made us all makes everything in New
England, but the weather. I don't know who makes that, but I think it must be
raw apprentices in the weather-clerks factory who experiment and learn how, in
New England, for board and clothes, and then are promoted to make weather for
countries that require a good article, and will take their custom elsewhere
if they don't get it.
